The vice president of Maldives have been arrested by the police for connections on plot to assassinate the president of Maldives.
Vice president Ahmed Adeeb is being detained and have been charged with treason, This is has been confirm by the home minister Umar Naseer via twitter.
The President of Maldives Abdullah Yameen narrowly escaped the a blast that struck his boat while he was returning home from the airport.
Three other accomplish were also arrested yesterday including the president former security and a member of the army bomb squad.
The Maldives Independent website said Mr Adeeb’s arrest had “surprised and enthralled many Maldivians”.
