Adamu Garba Accuses Simon Ekpa and Northern Influencers of Orchestrating Protests Against Tinubu

In a recent statement that has stirred controversy, former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant Adamu Garba has accused self-proclaimed Biafra Prime Minister Simon Ekpa and certain northern influencers of masterminding the recent protests against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Garba, who has been vocal about his political views, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his concerns. He alleged that Ekpa, currently residing abroad, is allegedly directing and inciting unrest in Nigeria while remaining physically distant from the country. According to Garba, Ekpa and his associates are leveraging the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians to fuel dissent against the Tinubu government.

Garba's accusations extend to northern influencers, who, he claims, have been enlisted to amplify discontent and exploit the prevailing economic hardships. He believes that these actions are part of a broader strategy by what he terms "Nigerian enemies" to destabilize the current administration.

Garba wrote on X: “The real sponsors of these rioters/‘not genuine protesters’ are sworn Nigerian enemies, someone like @simon_ekpa who’s taking sanctuary in a foreign land yet ordering and commanding the destruction of his fatherland. There is no greater illegitimacy in birth and in roots than this.”

He further claimed that some northern influencers are involved in this scheme, aiming to use the economic situation as leverage against the Tinubu administration. Garba also pointed to what he perceives as political revenge from some disaffected politicians who are using the protests as an opportunity to challenge the government.

In a bold move, Garba has called for a reassessment of Nigeria’s relationship with Finland, suggesting that the Finnish authorities should cooperate in extraditing Ekpa to face questioning in Nigeria. This call for action underscores the intensity of Garba's stance on the issue and his belief in the need for a firm response to what he describes as destabilizing efforts against the Nigerian government.
