Country Singer Billy Ray Cyrus Alleges Abuse in Court Filing Against Estranged Wife Firerose

Billy Ray Cyrus, the country singer, has filed a new court document alleging that his estranged wife, Firerose, was physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive towards him during their seven-month marriage. This counters Firerose's previous accusations of abuse against him in her own counter-suit.

The court filing, submitted in a Tennessee court on Monday, denies Firerose's claims and asserts, "While the Plaintiff acknowledges he expressed frustration and anger towards the Defendant in May 2024, it is the Plaintiff who has been the victim of abuse." The document further states that Billy Ray Cyrus was subjected to verbal, emotional, and physical abuse by Firerose, and dismisses her previous allegations of abuse as sensationalized and false.

Cyrus vehemently refutes all accusations of abuse made by Firerose and has moved for an annulment of their marriage, less than a year after their October wedding, citing "inappropriate marital conduct."

Included in the filing is a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent by Firerose to Cyrus, apologizing and pleading for reconciliation. Additionally, a handwritten note purportedly left by Firerose at their home after Cyrus filed for divorce expresses regret and a desire to reconcile.

The court document also reveals that Billy Ray Cyrus discovered after their marriage that Firerose had misrepresented her maiden name as "Hodges," and had concealed her previous marital status, allegedly with the intention of using Cyrus's surname to boost her music career.

Cyrus's filing asserts that Firerose's decision to marry him was based on deceptive motives, aimed at acquiring the "Cyrus" name for professional gain. He further claims that Firerose threatened to falsely accuse him of divorce due to his planned double mastectomy, which he denies, and expresses suspicion that she is concealing additional aspects of her background.

Scott Adkins, Cyrus's personal manager, has provided an affidavit supporting Cyrus's claims of abuse, stating that he witnessed Firerose behaving disrespectfully and uncontrollably towards Cyrus during his representation of both parties.

In response to Firerose's counter-suit alleging verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse, Cyrus described her accusations as "mindboggling" and expressed disbelief at her expectation of future professional involvement together.

The legal proceedings between Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose are ongoing, with potential for further developments as additional information comes to light.
