Chi Onwurah Elected to UK Parliament in Resounding Victory


 British-Nigerian Chi Onwurah has been elected as a member of the UK Parliament following the elections on Thursday night, July 4.

Onwurah, who hails from Anambra state and represents the UK's Labour Party, won the Newcastle upon Tyne Central and West constituency, defeating six other candidates.

She secured over 18,000 votes, with her closest competitor, Ashton Muncaster of the Reform Party, receiving 7,815 votes.
