Niger Governor Announces N200,000 Bonus and Job Opportunities for NYSC Members


 Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State announced a bonus of N200,000 for each Batch B stream corps member posted to the state. This announcement was made on Tuesday, July 2, during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Paiko, Niger State. The governor also revealed that the state government will allocate N5 billion for the construction of a permanent orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps in the state.

Governor Bago stated, "All corps members serving in Niger State are entitled to a N200,000 bonus from Niger Farms. Each of you will receive N200,000; I understand there are about 1,600 of you. We will credit your accounts with N200,000 to provide comfort during your stay in Niger State. We are also committing N5 billion to build a new NYSC camp for you."

In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim, it was further mentioned that the governor promised automatic employment to corps members in the medical field upon completion of their service.

The governor assured the corps members of their security and well-being and encouraged them to participate in the state’s agricultural initiatives. He emphasized that the state government, through Niger Foods Limited, will support any corps member willing to engage in farming.

A total of 1,301 corps members were posted to Niger State under the 2024 NYSC Batch B Stream I Orientation Course.
