Epstein Documents Reveal Brother Believed Trump Authorized Jeffrey Epstein’s Death

Documents connected to the federal investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are being released in stages by the Department of Justice, and one newly revealed tip has intensified long-standing suspicions surrounding Epstein’s death and the political power structures linked to him.

According to reporting by The Miami Herald, Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, contacted federal authorities in 2023 and stated his belief that former President Donald Trump authorized Jeffrey Epstein’s death while he was in federal custody. The tip, which was logged by the FBI on February 22, 2023, alleges that Epstein was on the verge of exposing the identities of powerful men connected to his sex trafficking operation.

“Jeffrey Epstein was murdered in his jail cell,” the document states. “I have reason to believe he was killed because he was about to name names. I believe Presient [sic] Trump authorized is [sic] murder.” The wording, despite typographical errors, reflects the gravity of the allegation and the belief held by Epstein’s closest surviving relative.

Mark Epstein reportedly told investigators that his brother had indicated he planned to reveal damaging information about individuals who were aware of or complicit in his trafficking activities. The documents released so far do not clarify whether Mark Epstein spoke directly with FBI agents or whether additional testimony exists that expands on his claims.

Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, a death officially ruled a suicide but one that has been widely questioned due to surveillance failures, guards falling asleep, and multiple procedural breakdowns inside a high-security federal facility.

Trump’s Justice Department has attempted to dismiss the significance of the newly released materials, issuing a statement claiming that many allegations contained within the document cache are “untrue and sensationalist claims.” Critics have long argued that the Trump administration showed little urgency in fully investigating Epstein’s death or its own prior connections to the disgraced financier.

Donald Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein. However, his past social relationship with Epstein, combined with his administration’s handling of the case, has fueled ongoing public skepticism and calls for transparency.

As additional documents continue to surface, the slow drip of disclosures has only deepened questions about who benefited from Epstein’s silence and whether political power once again shielded elites from accountability.
