On-air personality Kayode Ojuolape Oladotun, known as Do2dtun, shared an emotional note to himself on Father's Day.
Dotun's wife, Omotayo, filed for divorce in 2022, citing domestic violence and emotional abuse. The couple, who married in 2013, have two children together. Since the separation, Dotun has accused his ex-wife and her brother, singer Dbanj, of denying him access to his children.
On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Dotun took to Instagram to share heartwarming videos of moments with his daughters. He expressed his pain at being separated from them and criticized those who judged him without hearing his side of the story.
"How do you tell a FATHER who was there for the first baby steps to move on? Sadly, I can’t find Fife’s baby steps because they got lost with my other phone," he wrote.
"How do you tell a FATHER who shared a bond with his daughters to accept a selfish plot to mar his character and stop talking? How do you tell a FATHER who paid every bill from inception till they were taken away to let go and move on? How do you tell a FATHER who was present at all times, even finding their schools and staying connected via Zoom or in person, to move on? How do you tell a FATHER to accept phone calls as the only means of communication with the children he birthed?"
Dotun continued to question how he could be expected to accept lies, false accusations, and character assassination aimed at taking his kids away. He lamented the use of his public persona to judge him unfairly and called out his peers who never reached out to hear his side.
"How do you tell a FATHER who puts his family before anyone to let go? How do you tell a FATHER who keeps fighting for what is right to stop fighting?" he asked. "I can go on, but I am not the FATHER who will be judged for speaking the truth or being edgy as a weapon against my DAUGHTERS or those who still cared to listen to my story."
Dotun also criticized his peers who judged him without hearing his side, declaring, "You will never know peace. KO NI DA FUN YIN. I no join una setting, hence why some of you didn’t care even when I cared for your careers. I hate a system that values money and power over goodwill. I am not that type of FATHER."
He concluded by stating he does not live without proof and refuses to conform to societal expectations. "My DM is full of broken FATHERS, but I am not ashamed and I am not broken anymore. I AM JUST AN INTENTIONAL FATHER. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY OLADOTUN. YOU TRY."
