The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a warning about planned physical protests by certain individuals and groups in various parts of the country on Wednesday, June 12.
Peter Afunanya, the spokesperson for the DSS, released a statement indicating that these protests are intended to have "sinister objectives" and are timed to coincide with the Democracy Day Celebration.
“While citizens have the right to assembly and expression, these freedoms should not be exploited to undermine public safety and national security," Afunanya stated.
The DSS emphasized that it will not tolerate attempts by non-state actors to incite mass discontent through demonstrations that could potentially turn violent.
