Elon Musk, the world's richest man, has become a father of 12. Musk, 52, and Shivon Zilis, 38, director of special projects at Neuralink, have privately welcomed their third child together. This news was confirmed by Musk on June 23, following a Bloomberg Businessweek report citing sources familiar with the matter, stating the child was born earlier this year.
Musk addressed the information, stating, "All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean 'secret.'" He did not disclose the baby's name or sex. Musk and Zilis are also parents to twins, son Strider and daughter Azure, both 2 years old, conceived via IVF.
Zilis, quoted in Walter Isaacson's 2003 biography of Elon Musk, shared, "He really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to. If the choice is between an anonymous sperm donor or doing it with the person you admire most in the world, for me that was a pretty easy decision." She added, "I can't possibly think of genes I would prefer for my children."
