According to an announcement from Ghana Athletics on Saturday, Ghana has successfully won the bid to host the 2026 African Athletics Championships in Accra. This decision was confirmed during the Confederation of African Athletics Council Meeting held in Douala, Cameroon.
Out of the 15 countries participating in the election for the championship's next host, Ghana garnered 12 votes, with the remaining votes going to Botswana.
Ghana's successful bid comes after it showcased its impressive athletic facilities while hosting the 13th African Games earlier this year in March.
