Chloe Bailey Addresses Racial Biases in Music Industry

Chloe Bailey, the talented American singer-songwriter and actress, has spoken out against racial biases in the music industry. In an interview with Nylon, the 25-year-old expressed frustration over the tendency to pigeonhole Black artists into specific genres, while their White counterparts are often labeled as mainstream pop stars.

Bailey highlighted the disparity, noting that her music is automatically categorized as R&B simply because of her race. She argued that if a White artist produced the same style of music, it would likely be classified as pop.

She emphasized that music transcends racial boundaries and genres, describing it as a universal language that evokes emotions and vibrations.

Chloe Bailey, also known as Chlöe, gained prominence as part of the duo Chloe x Halle, alongside her sister Halle Bailey. Despite the challenges posed by industry biases, they have achieved success with their unique sound and artistic expression.
