Kano High Court Grants Order to Restrain EFCC from Acting Against Senator Kwankwaso and Others


 A High Court in Kano has issued an order preventing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from taking any action against Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and seven others. Justice Yusuf Ubale Muhammad granted the order, which prohibits the EFCC from arresting, intimidating, detaining, or harassing the respondents. 

The court's decision came after reviewing a motion exparte filed on June 5, 2024, by the applicants: the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, Dipo Olayanku, Ahmed Balewa, Chief Clement Anele, Lady Folshade Aliu, Eng. Buba Galadima, and Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. The respondent in the case is the EFCC. The court's interim injunction remains in effect until the hearing and determination of the motion on notice, scheduled for June 24th, 2024.
