Primate Ayodele Urges President Tinubu to Address Economic Hardships to Prevent Massive Protest

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, urged President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday to address the nation's hunger and electricity issues to prevent a massive impending protest that could disrupt all sectors.

Primate Ayodele warned that if economic hardships are not resolved, the protest could occur between August and September 2024. In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele emphasized that this protest could surpass the scale of the EndSARS protest, as it would involve widespread participation from Nigerians expressing their dissatisfaction with the current administration.

He stated, "President Tinubu, don’t allow another massive protest to arise; ensure there is food on Nigerians' tables. Address this inflation to avoid a major crisis. If conditions don't improve by August-September, the situation will be dire."

The prophet advised the president to declare a state of emergency on the economy and electricity, highlighting that both sectors are currently underperforming. He stressed the need for improvements in agriculture and urged the president to focus on tangible solutions rather than propaganda.

"President Tinubu should tackle the economic hardship immediately and enhance the electricity supply, as inadequate power severely impacts the economy. A state of emergency on electricity is essential since no progress is evident. This will significantly affect the Nigerian economy.

"The government must also boost agricultural efforts to prevent unnecessary hardship. There is much to be done to reduce food prices. Ignoring these issues will lead to a massive protest. Propaganda won't help; they must confront reality," Ayodele added.
