Sean Paul Reveals Behind-the-Scenes of Beyoncé Collaboration

Jamaican dancehall sensation Sean Paul recently shared insights into his collaboration with American pop icon Beyoncé on their hit track, "Baby Boy," featured on her 2003 album 'Dangerous Love.'

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Paul revealed how Beyoncé ventured beyond her usual musical territory to team up with him on the dancehall-infused song. He expressed that their collaboration not only propelled dancehall music to global recognition but also created a significant milestone in both their careers.

Recalling the experience, Paul mentioned, “While I was working with Busta Rhymes and Clipse, and doing projects with Blu Cantrell— all of which were impressive but leaned more towards hip-hop— collaborating with Beyoncé was on another level. She, being such a prominent artist, daringly explored a different genre."

He continued, "It signaled to me that the dancehall style was gaining traction and that my music was resonating with a broader audience. Given her background in Texas, where exposure to dancehall music was likely, the collaboration felt organic and meaningful. It marked a moment of historic significance for both of us.”
