Seven passengers tragically lost their lives on Monday in a fatal accident on the Aba-Ikot Ekpene road in Abia State.
The accident involved a Toyota Sienna bus from an Akwa Ibom-based transport company and a red tipper carrying wet sand. The collision occurred at Ukpakiri junction on the Federal road.
Most of the victims were reportedly passengers in the Sienna bus. As of this report, there has been no official statement regarding the cause of the accident or the exact number of victims.
Local residents and transporters attributed the accident to the Toyota Sienna driver's excessive speeding. However, some residents suggested that the tipper experienced brake failure, leading to the collision.
