outh Africa's Head Coach, Hugo Broos, dismissed any notion of satisfaction regarding Victor Osimhen's absence from the Super Eagles lineup for Friday night's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Osimhen played a pivotal role in the Super Eagles' victory over Bafana Bafana in the Nation's Cup Semis last January, notably earning a penalty.
When asked about Osimhen's absence, Broos emphasized that it's Nigeria's concern, not South Africa's.
"We're here to play Nigeria as a team, not to focus on individual players. Whether Osimhen plays or not is Nigeria's concern, not ours," Broos stated.
He maintained that their preparation is centered on facing the Nigerian team collectively, irrespective of individual players.
"We're ready to face Nigeria with or without Osimhen. Our focus is on playing 11 versus 11," Broos added, highlighting his team's readiness for the crucial match.
