Travis Scott Arrested in Miami Beach on Trespassing and Disorderly Intoxication Charges

Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday morning in Miami Beach, facing charges of trespassing and disorderly intoxication, according to authorities. The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, posted bonds of $500 and $150 for the respective charges. He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight correctional center around 4:35 am and was expected to be released later in the morning.

A Miami Beach police arrest affidavit detailed that Scott was involved in a "disturbance on a yacht" which escalated into a physical altercation. Officers found Scott "standing by the dock and yelling at the vessel occupants." Despite being asked to sit down, Scott repeatedly stood up and ignored police orders.

Sergeant Lemus of the Miami Beach police warned Scott to leave the dock or face arrest. As Scott walked from the vessel to the boardwalk, he continued to walk backward, yelling obscenities at the occupants of the yacht, according to the affidavit. Though he initially left the dock, Scott returned five minutes later, yelling again and causing a public disturbance, which affected the peace of marina occupants and nearby residential buildings.

When asked if he had been drinking, Scott reportedly replied, "it’s Miami," admitting to alcohol consumption.

Throughout his career, Scott has achieved four No. 1 hits and over 100 songs on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He shares two children with influencer and businesswoman Kylie Jenner. Scott has been nominated for 10 Grammy awards and has sold over 49 million certified records with his unique blend of traditional hip-hop and lo-fi music.

In November 2021, a crowd surge at his Astroworld concert in Houston, Texas, resulted in 10 deaths and 300 injuries, marking one of the deadliest tragedies in US pop history. Some lawsuits claimed Scott was negligent and benefited from continuing the concert despite crowd control issues. Scott has denied responsibility for the tragedy, and all but one wrongful death lawsuit has been settled.
