Davido Withdraws from Child Custody Battle After Sophia Momodu’s Counter Affidavit

Davido has responded to the counter affidavit filed by Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first child, Imade Adeleke, following his originating motions concerning custody.

The singer had requested the court to grant him joint custody of their daughter, Imade, or alternatively, to grant him unfettered and unrestricted access to her.

Today, details of Sophia's 100-paragraph counter affidavit emerged online. In it, she argued against Davido's custody request, stating that their daughter, being a minor (9 years old), has lived with her all her life and she has been solely responsible for her welfare, upkeep, and well-being.

Sophia further contended that due to the tragic and questionable circumstances surrounding the death of Davido’s son in his house, their daughter should not be placed in his custody.

Reacting to the counter affidavit, Davido criticized Sophia for repeatedly mentioning the death of his son, Ifeanyi. In a surprising turn, the singer appeared to withdraw from the custody case, telling Sophia, "you can have her."
