Former Big Brother Naija contestant Pere Egbi has clarified the marital history of actress Sharon Ooja's husband, Ugo Nwoke. Pere addressed a viral video featuring a woman claiming to be a family friend of Nwoke, asserting that he had only been married once before.
Taking to his social media platform, Pere shared the video and explained that he had received confirmation from Nwoke's cousin, who is also a friend of his, that Nwoke's previous marriage count was indeed one, not three as rumored.
Expressing his disappointment with unverified negative news spread by blogs, Pere emphasized the importance of authenticity in reporting. He criticized the tendency of blogs to propagate stories without ensuring their accuracy, highlighting the gullibility of readers who believe everything they read.
In Pere's words, "There’s nothing wrong with a divorcee remarrying. Her husband’s cousin is a very good friend of mine in Dallas. It’s funny how people believe everything they read because they are gullible. And it’s amazing how blogs focus on negative stories without verifying their accuracy. They just spread any story without caring about its authenticity."
He further stated, "Her husband’s cousin confirmed to me that he was only married once. And there’s nothing wrong with being married once."
Following Sharon Ooja's traditional wedding with Ugo Nwoke in Abuja, reports from StellaDimokorkus blog had alleged that Nwoke had been married three times previously, all ending in divorce.
