Amy Wilson-Hardy, a member of Team GB’s rugby squad, is under investigation by the British Olympic Association (BOA) following allegations of a racist comment. The controversy arises from a screengrab of a WhatsApp conversation reportedly involving Wilson-Hardy and an unnamed third party.
According to Mail Online, the image in question shows Wilson-Hardy, 32, wearing a dark-colored facemask. In the conversation, a message underneath the photo includes a racially insensitive comment, which led to further remarks about the comment’s context. The BOA has confirmed that it is looking into the incident. A spokesperson for the association stated, "The British Olympic Association has been made aware of an image on a social media platform and is investigating the matter."
