Diddy’s ‘Freak Off’ Parties Were a Lifestyle, Not a Crime, Says Lawyer

Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is facing serious allegations of racketeering and sex trafficking, but his lawyer, Teny Geragos, is pushing back, arguing that his lifestyle choices don’t make him a criminal. Speaking on NewsNation’s Cuomo show on Wednesday, September 18, Geragos defended Diddy, emphasizing that the activities he's accused of were consensual.

“He’s innocent,” Geragos stated, following a judge's decision to deny bail and keep the 54-year-old rapper in pre-trial detention. Geragos highlighted that while Diddy may have engaged in certain activities, they were not illegal. "A lifestyle and being present in activities doesn't mean he committed a crime. Those activities and the lifestyle is not criminal."

Geragos also pointed out a key difference between Diddy’s case and those of other high-profile figures like R. Kelly and Jeffrey Epstein. “There are no charges relating to minors,” she emphasized, adding that consent was never disputed in the allegations.

Diddy, who appeared in court on Tuesday, is accused of running a criminal enterprise involving sex trafficking and other crimes. Prosecutors claim that he organized drug-fueled sexual events, known as "Freak Offs," where participants, including both women and male sex workers, engaged in extended sexual performances. During property searches, authorities reportedly discovered over a thousand bottles of baby oil, which were allegedly used during these events.

It has been further alleged that the women involved were often left so exhausted after these sessions that they required IV drips for recovery.

The indictment also references an incident involving Diddy’s former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, with an attack captured on video. However, another of Diddy’s lawyers, Marc Agnifilo, denied any coercion in their relationship. “Is it sex trafficking? Not if everybody wants to be there,” Agnifilo argued, claiming authorities were unfairly intruding into Diddy’s personal life.

The case against Diddy continues as he remains in federal custody awaiting trial.
