Karen Igho, the winner of Big Brother Africa, has reached out for assistance on social media, revealing her distressing situation as she navigates a difficult divorce from her husband, Yaroslav Rakos.
In a series of emotional posts shared on her X account on Tuesday, Igho expressed her struggles, alleging that she has endured physical and sexual abuse throughout their marriage. She also accused Rakos of trying to gain custody of their two children by falsely portraying her as mentally unstable.
“I am going through a divorce with my husband. I have been homeless for a year now, and I have been sexually and physically hurt,” she stated. “If anything happens to me, hold the man who brought me to a country where I know no one responsible. He is trying to take our children away by saying I’m mentally sick. I’m not mentally ill, and I don’t do drugs. In case you don’t hear from me again, know that I have been killed.”
Igho, who won the reality show in 2011, relocated to the United States after marrying Rakos in Jos, Plateau State, in 2014. Her alarming posts have raised concerns among her followers and the public, highlighting the urgent need for support during her trying times.
