Burna Boy Breaks Record as Nigerian Artist with Most Billboard Hot 100 Entries

Nigerian superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has made history by surpassing fellow artist Tems to become the Nigerian artist with the most charting songs on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Burna Boy achieved this milestone with the debut of "We Pray," a collaboration featuring Coldplay, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini Stoessel, which landed at No. 87 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. This new entry brings Burna Boy’s total number of charting songs to six, breaking his previous tie with Tems, who has five entries.

Wizkid, who was the first Nigerian artist to make it onto the Hot 100, has four entries. Other Nigerian artists with Hot 100 appearances include Rema, CKay, Fireboy, Davido, and Lojay, all with one entry each.

Burna Boy is now just one song away from breaking the record held by South African band Seether for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by an African artist.
