JD Vance Affirms Belief That Trump Did Not Lose 2020 Election

Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance addressed a rally in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he reiterated his belief that former President Donald Trump did not lose the 2020 election. Vance's comments came during a question-and-answer session with reporters on Wednesday.

When asked about the message his stance sends to independent voters, Vance clarified that he has been consistent in his views regarding the 2020 election. “I think there were serious problems in 2020. So did Donald Trump lose the election? No, not by the words that I would use,” he stated.

Despite extensive investigations concluding that there was no evidence of fraud in the 2020 election, Trump has persistently claimed that his loss to Democrat Joe Biden was due to widespread voter fraud. He has suggested that he might not accept the results of the upcoming 2024 election as well, stating in May that he would accept the outcome only if he believed everything was honest.

During his rally, Vance shifted the focus from past election results to the future, expressing greater concern about the potential implications of a Kamala Harris victory in the upcoming election. He emphasized his priority on listening to voters' current struggles, particularly regarding the rising cost of living.

Vance remarked, “The past two weeks I think I’ve been asked eight or nine questions about 2020. But how many questions have I been asked about why Pennsylvanians can’t afford gasoline?”

Pennsylvania is seen as a critical battleground state that could significantly influence the outcome of the U.S. election.
