His tragic passing has raised alarm, as a 911 call made by hotel staff revealed their deep concern for the singer's wellbeing shortly before the incident.
In the call, which was made public by local media, a hotel receptionist named Esteban described a troubling situation. He stated, “We have a guest who is off his head on drugs and alcohol. He is conscious but is destroying everything in the room. We need you to send someone, please.” The urgency in his voice suggested a real fear for Payne's safety.
Esteban further informed emergency responders that they were worried for the guest's life, mentioning that he had a balcony in his room.
