The United States has issued a strong warning to Iran, citing credible intelligence that suggests Tehran is preparing an imminent ballistic missile attack against Israel. A senior White House official confirmed on Tuesday that the U.S. is actively supporting Israel's defensive measures in anticipation of the threat.
"The United States has indications that Iran is on the verge of launching a ballistic missile attack against Israel. We are fully prepared to assist in Israel's defense, and a direct military strike by Iran will result in severe repercussions," the official stated.
The U.S. is ready to deploy advanced missile defense systems and provide any necessary support to help intercept incoming threats, echoing a similar response in April when Iran launched drone and missile strikes against Israel. Most of those attacks were successfully neutralized by Israel's defense systems, with U.S. assistance.
Tensions in the region have escalated dramatically, with Israel intensifying operations against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group operating in Lebanon. Israel recently launched strikes that reportedly killed a significant number of Hezbollah fighters, including top leadership figures, following the destruction of communications infrastructure in the region.
Additionally, Israel has expanded its military efforts by launching a ground operation in southern Lebanon, specifically targeting Hezbollah’s leadership. This move risks further destabilizing the already volatile Middle East, as the ongoing conflict in Gaza, coupled with Hezbollah’s involvement, threatens to escalate into a full-scale regional war.
