Controversial figure, Dr Kemi Lawrence, has launched a scathing attack on the Falana family following the N500 million court judgement against VDM for defamation. In a lengthy social media post, Dr Kemi Lawrence accused the Falana family, referred to as the "Falana Family Cartel" (FFC), of corruption and using their legal power to silence voices, including those of journalists and citizens.
Dr Kemi Lawrence called on her supporters to unfollow Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, on all social media platforms, claiming that Falz is "bisexual" and has been acting nervously within the Nigerian music industry. She further alleged that Falana Senior, Femi Falana, has used his influence in various high-profile cases, including those of Mohbad and the EndSARS protests, to protect certain individuals and suppress justice.
Among the accusations, Dr Kemi Lawrence claimed that:
- Femi Falana played a role in turning the Mohbad case into a cold case.
- Falana allegedly intimidated Banke Oniru during the EndSARS movement.
- He accused Falana of forcing a journalist to reveal their source in the Oromoni case, which VDM claimed vindicated him.
- Falana allegedly shielded high-profile individuals, including Bobrisky and Chief Adedoyin, from facing the full consequences of their legal troubles.
Dr Kemi Lawrence also accused Falana of leveraging his position to seek a presidential pardon for Bobrisky and alleged a connection between the human rights lawyer and Nigeria's National Security Advisor, Nuhu Ribadu, involving a N10 billion lawsuite
Dr Kemi Lawrence post, filled with fiery rhetoric, concluded with a defiant stance, claiming that the voices of Nigerian citizens would not be silenced. Her explosive comments have fueled ongoing public discourse and controversy surrounding the powerful Falana family.
