Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has accused federal prosecutors of manipulating evidence in an attempt to portray him as more dangerous ahead of his upcoming bail hearing. In court documents filed by his defense team, Combs claims that prosecutors presented an edited version of a 2016 surveillance video, altering the sequence of events to strengthen their case against him.
The video in question reportedly depicts an altercation between Diddy and singer Cassie Ventura at a hotel in March 2016. Combs' legal team argues that the unedited version of the footage, which they assert is in the prosecution's possession, provides a more accurate depiction of what they describe as a "domestic dispute." They contend that the edited version was used to present what they claim is "the most powerful evidence of danger and obstruction" against their client.
Diddy denies the allegations of violence, including claims that he "dragged" Ventura down a hotel hallway or threw a vase at her. His attorneys maintain that he only threw the contents of the vase during the incident, not the vase itself. They describe the video as a "sad glimpse into a decade-long consensual relationship" rather than evidence of coercion or sex trafficking.
Additionally, Diddy vehemently denies accusations involving "freak-off" events and sex trafficking, suggesting that the prosecution's portrayal is part of a strategy to influence the judge’s decision on his bail.
As the case continues to attract public attention, Diddy's legal team argues that the prosecution's actions undermine a fair evaluation of the facts, with the edited surveillance footage serving as a central point of contention in the ongoing legal battle.
