Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is set to miss action for an extended period after suffering a hamstring injury during the team's commanding 5-1 win over Crystal Palace over the weekend.
Addressing the situation in a press conference on Monday, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the severity of the injury to the 23-year-old England international. “It’s not looking promising. He’ll be sidelined for many weeks,” Arteta revealed.
Saka was seen leaving Selhurst Park on crutches following Saturday’s match, casting a shadow over what was otherwise a dominant performance by Arsenal, marking their second win against the Eagles in just four days.
Saka has been a crucial player for Arsenal this season, contributing five goals and ten assists in the Premier League. His absence presents a significant challenge for Arteta’s squad, particularly as they compete for top honors in domestic and European competitions.
Arteta expressed confidence in the team’s ability to navigate this setback, pointing to previous instances when key players like Martin Ødegaard and several defenders were unavailable.
“We’re approaching it with a positive mindset,” Arteta said. “We’ve had to adapt before, and we’ll plan accordingly for this period.”
As Arsenal prepares for their upcoming fixtures, fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on Saka’s recovery and the team’s performance in his absence.
