BREAKING NEWS: Jeju Air Flight Veers Off Runway in South Korea, Injures 23

 

A Jeju Air flight carrying 175 passengers and six crew members veered off the runway and crashed into a fence at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, on Sunday morning.

According to the Yonhap news agency, the accident resulted in at least 23 casualties, with emergency crews working urgently to rescue passengers.

The flight, Jeju Air 2216, was en route from Bangkok, Thailand, when the incident occurred at approximately 9 a.m. local time. Early images circulating on social media, yet to be verified, showed large plumes of smoke billowing from the crash site.

Emergency responders were dispatched immediately upon receiving the alert. Rescue operations are ongoing, and the authorities have yet to confirm the severity of the injuries or the cause of the crash.

Operations at Muan International Airport have been suspended temporarily as investigators assess the situation and emergency services continue their work.
