Sylvester Stallone is opening up about a past mistake he deeply regrets. In an emotional interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on December 3, the actor admitted to sending a breakup letter to his then-girlfriend Jennifer Flavin via FedEx in 1994, labeling the act as cowardly.
At the time, Stallone and Flavin had been in a relationship for six years. Stallone acknowledged that sending the six-page letter, rather than speaking to her face-to-face, was a decision he now considers deeply insincere. “That’s the most insincere breakup you can get,” he told Hannity, adding, “You put it down in words ‘cause you don’t have the guts to do it face to face.”
The actor, who reflected on his "history with relationships," explained that a part of him didn't truly want to break up with Flavin, but his actions at the time were influenced by past experiences.
In 1994, Flavin told People magazine that she received the letter after discovering Stallone had been involved in an affair with model Janice Dickinson. While Flavin wanted to have a conversation with Stallone, she chose not to beg him to return.
However, the couple reconciled a year later, and they were married in 1997. Despite a challenging journey, including a brief divorce filing in 2022, Stallone and Flavin have remained together, celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary this past May. They share three daughters: Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.
Stallone's candid reflection on his past mistakes offers a glimpse into his personal growth, acknowledging the importance of accountability in relationships.
