Cosmas Maduka, the Chairman of Coscharis Group, emphasized the importance of financial stability in marriage and advised that a man should have certain essentials before entering into a marital relationship.
During his appearance on the Mic On podcast, Maduka responded to a remark by host Seun Okinbaloye, who pointed out that many women require men to earn a certain amount of money each month and to own a car before considering them for marriage.
Maduka explained, "Seun, it's about finding a balance, because financial stability is significant. Some women may be quick to accept a man who promises, 'I love you, and I’ll marry you,' but love alone isn't enough to survive on."
He further stated, "If a woman marries a man without a job just because he speaks in tongues, she isn't being practical. I do not advise women to marry a man who lacks a clear plan for his life."
Maduka emphasized that a man should have at least a two or three-bedroom apartment and be able to disclose his monthly earnings. "You shouldn’t be living by faith alone," he added.
Reflecting on his own experience, he shared that when he was preparing for marriage, he ensured he did not take his wife to live in his parents' home. Instead, he secured a three-bedroom house, knowing he had plans for marriage. "That’s part of maturity," he said. Maduka also highlighted that he was already earning enough to support a family before he made the decision to get married.
