Prophet Ebuka Obi of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has addressed the recent controversy surrounding a woman's testimony in his ministry. The woman had previously testified about purchasing a house worth N500 million, but months later, she was seen selling drinks in a small shop.
This development led to widespread speculation, with some individuals accusing Prophet Ebuka Obi of orchestrating false testimonies. However, his followers defended him, asserting that he had no prior knowledge of the woman’s claims being untrue.
Critics questioned why a man of God who receives visions could not discern the truth about the testimony. Addressing the issue on Sunday, March 2, Prophet Ebuka Obi firmly denied any connection to the woman and emphasized that she had not only misled the congregation but had also lied before God.
He shared that it had been revealed to him in advance that his name would be widely discussed in the media due to an event that would seem real but would actually be false. He stated, "The only day God spoke to me about my name being in the media was on the 4th of last month. Go and watch the program. In the evening, I said that the media would be shaken, that it would seem real, but it is fake."
In response to the situation, Prophet Ebuka Obi expressed his intention to investigate the woman’s claims and uncover the truth. He also suggested that certain clergymen had supported blogs in publishing the story in an attempt to damage his reputation.
Addressing his congregation, he said, "This is for Zion people, not for those funding bloggers. I heard that some clergymen from the East and other places sponsored this. What exactly are you doing, blogger? Did I know her? Did any member know her? She came to testify, just like many others who do so every day."
He concluded by reaffirming that if the woman’s testimony was false, the responsibility lay solely with her, as she had made her claims before God and the altar, not under the ministry’s direction.
