Cardi B Says She’s Still Married to Offset Only Because of Taxes — While Expecting Baby With Stefon Diggs

Cardi B is clearing the air about her messy marriage situation with Offset — and she isn’t holding back.

During a Sept. 22 livestream on X Spaces, the rapper revealed that despite filing for divorce more than a year ago, she’s technically still married to Offset because of money. “The only reason why I'm still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” Cardi B said, claiming Offset is demanding millions and even one of her properties before signing off on the divorce.

She stressed that the situation isn’t about love anymore, calling it being “held hostage.” While she and Offset are “legally separated,” she said, the paperwork isn’t finalized.

This comes just days after Cardi announced that she’s pregnant with her first child with NFL star Stefon Diggs. The rapper, who shares three kids with Offset, defended her decision: “I have three kids with one man that I married. Yes, I'm having a baby with somebody else. So what? That happens, it's life.”

Offset, for his part, filed an amended divorce response in May asking for spousal support and joint custody of their children. The couple has been on-and-off since 2017, married the same year, and weathered multiple breakup rumors and divorce filings.
