Kim Kardashian Calls ChatGPT Her “Toxic Frenemy” After Legal Study Fails

Kim Kardashian revealed a surprisingly combative relationship with ChatGPT during an interview with Teyana Taylor for Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test series.

The reality star and entrepreneur, who has been studying law through California’s apprenticeship program, admitted that she relies on ChatGPT for legal questions—but often with frustrating results. “They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests,” Kardashian said. She added that she frequently argues with the AI, telling it, “You made me fail. Why did you do this?”

Kardashian described the AI as a “frenemy” because it responds sassily when challenged. “Then I will talk to it and say, ‘Hey, you’re gonna make me fail. How does that make you feel?’ And it’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts, so you knew the answer all along,’” she explained.

Taylor jokingly noted that this dynamic makes Kardashian and ChatGPT “friends, just toxic friends,” to which Kardashian responded, “It’s like a thing. I screenshot all the time and send it in my group chat. Like, can you believe this bitch is talking to me like this? This is insane.”

Kardashian passed the “baby bar” exam in 2021 and recently completed the bar exam, though she is still awaiting results. She currently portrays a lawyer on All’s Fair, a legal drama about an all-female law firm specializing in high-profile divorces, which stars Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Sarah Paulson alongside Kardashian.

Her candid take on ChatGPT highlights both the promise and limitations of AI in professional and educational contexts—and shows that even celebrities can struggle with trusting artificial intelligence.
