IGBO LEADERSHIP WILL SANCTION IGBO POLITICIANS

 

Some prominent personalities from the southeastern Nigeria under the aegis of igbo elders consultative forum (IECF), have threatened to sanction any Igbo politician who accepts to be running mates to anyone not from the region.

* My take in this, since the fourth dispensation began in 1999, no southeasterner has been president of Nigeria. Besides equity, justice and fairness, legally, morally and strategically; the credible, visionary and creative southeastern candidates should be encouraged to run for the presidency as it is the turn of the region (Nigerian style of democracy).

* My questions, does the IECF have the powers to enforce this? How many of them are truly credible to be ascribed as (Igbo leaders). What significant efforts have they put to better the region? For many of them who at some point held public offices of trust, how well did they serve?
