More doom on the suspended commander of the intelligent response team (IRT), ACP abba kyari as the national drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA) launches into the probe of the seizure of large consignment of tramadol worth three billion naira, an illegal drug in Lagos state. The alleged seizure, was learnt, and was not disclosed to the agency. According to vanguard, during the weekend probe by the NDLEA, those close to kyari in the police were believed to be worried that more illegalities linked to the team led by the suspended police officer may be uncovered.
*My take, the failure of the Nigerian police force and the endemic corruption in the police force have caused the proliferation of other agencies such as the NDLEA, VIO, NSCDC, road safety Corp, vigilante groups, armed touts, etc. Even all these off shoots are also corrupt and have no human face. In the Nigerian police force, there are departments for all these off shoots but because the Nigerian police force has not got it's priorities right, it's why these off shoots exist. It's only in Nigeria and maybe some other corrupt countries that you will find difference shades and proliferation of police force. Their functions or activities usually always collide and overlap instead of complimentary. From the advantageous aspect of these proliferation, the covet atrocities of the abba kyari and his team are exposed. This gets me to wonder to what number of such unsupervised police team or group across the country and the extent they could go to unleash their atrocities.
*My question, is the Nigerian police force unaware of such ongoings and many others that occur across the country on a daily basis? Are these illegal check points in the Southeast, south south, Southwest of the country not also part of the corrupt unsupervised oversight of the intelligent response team (IRT)? Isn't this headline a proof enough to explain the tag "yahoo police officers" in the Nigerian police force? The yahoo police officers are Nigerian police officers who engage in internet fraud (advance fee fraud aka 419). Is it not possible that this got leaked maybe because abba kyari tries to be greedy to out smart his chiefs or bosses or the vested interest from some sister agencies were denied? What will make this different from other past celebrated matters or headlines in Nigeria? What genuine, frantic and pragmatic steps is the Nigerian police force taking to eradicate such headlines and reorienting itself?
