ASCAP London Music Awards Honor Rema`s 'Calm Down'

While Rema, the Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, captivated audiences at Louis Vuitton's Men's Spring-Summer Show during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday, his chart-topping hit 'Calm Down' was raking in accolades at the 2024 ASCAP London Music Awards.

The track 'Calm Down' clinched the prestigious Song of the Year and Top Streaming Song awards, showcasing its global appeal and impact.

Acknowledging the song's success, its co-writers and co-producers, Michael Hunter, also known as London, and Andre Vibez, were duly recognized as winners alongside Rema.

These wins bolster Rema's standing in the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) awards, making him the most decorated Nigerian/African artiste with three ASCAP awards to his name.

In the realm of awards, Rema has emerged as the most acclaimed African artiste in 2024, amassing a total of six awards thus far. Among his accolades are one Trends Award in Brazil, one iHeartRadio Music Award, one ASCAP Pop Music Award, and two ASCAP London Music Awards.

Notably, 'Calm Down' recently achieved a significant milestone by becoming "the first Afrobeats song in history to garner over 1 billion on-demand streams in the US," underscoring its widespread popularity and cultural significance.
