Ayra Starr's Evolution: From Rising Star to Global Sensation


 Afrobeats sensation Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, expressed confidence in her rapid rise to stardom at a young age. She noted that her musical style has been evolving since gaining prominence with her debut EP and first full-length project, '19 & Dangerous,' in 2021.

Speaking on Visa's 'Music Talks,' Ayra Starr acknowledged the pressure of growing up in the public eye but emphasized the importance of allowing artists to mature and find their true selves. She reflected, "My first single blew up in Africa, and I was overwhelmed. I got to grow up in front of everyone. We need to allow artists to grow and find themselves."

Ayra Starr also discussed her global appeal, noting that people from various parts of the world appreciate her music. She described her voice as a defining element of her sound, blending Afrobeats with other genres seamlessly.

Recalling her journey to joining Mavin Records, Ayra Starr shared that she recorded five songs during her first meeting with Don Jazzy, three of which made it to her first EP. She expressed excitement for the future, believing that her sound will continue to evolve and grow with each era and experience.
