Brooklyn Tragedy: Elderly Pedestrian's Life Ended in Horrific Collision


 An elderly pedestrian tragically lost his life in Brooklyn after being struck by a city Department of Transportation vehicle, according to authorities. The victim, an 86-year-old man, was crossing Dahlgren Place in Bay Ridge around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, when the collision occurred. The impact of the crash was so severe that the man's head was separated from his body.

Distressing images captured at the scene depict law enforcement officers covering the grisly scene with a single sheet, with the DOT truck visible in the background. The victim's body was found several yards away from the point of impact, lying in the crosswalk.

The driver of the DOT truck, a 31-year-old individual, remained present following the incident, and no immediate arrests were made. The investigation into the tragic incident is currently underway.
