A neighborhood dispute in Costa Rica escalated tragically when a man shot his neighbor, with the horrifying incident captured on video.
Surveillance footage from Monday, June 3, in the city of Escazú, shows two neighbors and their wives yelling at each other after an argument. The dispute moved to the front yard, where the confrontation intensified.

The argument reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over a shared water valve. As tensions peaked, Otoniel Orozco Mendoza physically attacked his neighbor, Eduardo Ramírez Zamora, by throwing punches. In response, Zamora pulled out a gun and fired 10 shots at Mendoza.
Mendoza was pronounced dead at the scene when first responders arrived. His wife could be seen in the video screaming and fleeing as the shots were fired, while Zamora's wife tried to pull him back. Both women eventually ran off.
Zamora was arrested by authorities following the incident.
Mendoza, originally from Nicaragua, was a businessman working in private security. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son. He was 53 years old.
