EFCC Chairman Initiates Disciplinary Proceedings Against Officers Accused of Assault at Lagos Hotel

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has taken decisive action against two officers accused of assaulting a female employee at Regional Hotel, Ojo, Lagos.

In a widely circulated video, the officers were recorded conducting a sting operation at the hotel in the early hours of Thursday, June 27, 2024, during which they allegedly assaulted the hotel staff.

Olukoyede promptly ordered the arrest of the officers implicated and directed them to appear before a joint disciplinary panel comprising the Appointment, Promotion, and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity.

The disciplinary hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 1, 2024, at the EFCC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja. The panel will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures against the officers.

Olukoyede underscored the Commission's unwavering commitment to accountability and professionalism within its ranks, emphasizing that stringent actions will be taken to address any misconduct.
