Fatal Family Feud: Indiana Father Arrested for Stabbing Son Over Household Chore

An Indiana man reportedly stabbed his son in the heart during an argument over dirty dishes, according to police.

The incident took place on Friday, June 14, at their home. Timothy Ray Lisby, 59, is currently charged with aggravated battery and is being held without bond, as per Marion County Jail records.

A family friend who witnessed the fatal incident involving 31-year-old Christopher Allen Lisby believes the father should be charged with murder, he told Fox 59.

The case has been handed over to homicide detectives, who are continuing the investigation following the initial battery charge.

Witness Jeremiah Green recounted to Fox 59 that an argument over a pile of dirty dishes escalated into a physical altercation between Lisby and his son inside their mobile home on Dogie Road in Indianapolis.

"Tim had a spoon in his hand and started stabbing Chris with it," Green reported. "Chris said, ‘Jeremiah, get the spoon out of his hand,’ so I did."

Lisby then seized another, more lethal weapon, according to Green. "Tim ran into the kitchen, grabbed something shiny and sharp, and pushed it into Chris’s chest as hard as he could," Green stated.

Green called 911, and officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived to find the son with a severe chest wound. According to an affidavit obtained by Law & Crime, Christopher Lisby was taken to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery for a lacerated heart but succumbed to his injuries the following day.

After Green's call for help, he said the father attempted to render first aid. "He was putting pressure on Chris and saying, ‘Don’t die. Don’t die,’" Green recalled. "Since that day, I’ve been crying, and I can’t sleep."

Green has expressed his determination to testify against Lisby in court, stating he will do whatever it takes to ensure justice. "Chris was my friend. I loved him to death," Green said. "I’ve never seen anyone bleed that bad, and that really hurt me. When he stabbed Chris in the heart, it’s like he stabbed mine."

"He killed the only friend I have in the world. He’s going to pay for what he did," Green told Fox 59.

Timothy Ray Lisby is scheduled to appear in court on June 21, according to online jail records.
