Residents of Okpoama Butcher Giant Whale After It Washes Ashore


 Residents of Okpoama, a coastal village in the Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, butchered a massive whale on Wednesday morning, June 19, 2024.

The whale, approximately 15 meters in length, five meters in width, and standing about three meters high, had washed ashore on Tuesday night.

Using machetes, hacksaws, and axes, the community members dismembered the giant creature.

According to a local resident, the whale was discovered dead after being stranded out of water throughout the night.
