Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi has identified the goalkeeper he considers the best in the world. According to Messi, his international teammate Emi Martinez holds that title.
Both Messi and Martinez were instrumental in Argentina's victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Martinez also earned the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award last year.
“For me, yes, I think that if he is not the best in the world he is among the best without a doubt,” Messi told ESPN. “He has been demonstrating his skills both in the national team and at his club.
“Currently, he is a crucial player for his club and has achieved his career goal of reaching the Champions League. I have no doubt that a significant portion of the team’s success is due to him.”
