Man Confesses to Murdering Client After Fraudulent Scheme in Adamawa State


Aliyu Yakubu, a 36-year-old man from Adamawa State, has confessed to murdering his client, Bassey Isah.

Aliyu admitted to the police that he had promised Bassey he could print Naira notes and make him rich overnight, successfully swindling him out of several valuable items in the process. Among the items he obtained were three bags of maize, a Toyota Starlet car, a motorcycle, and a Carry-Go tricycle.

The Adamawa State Police Command reported that Aliyu Yakubu, a resident of Jalingo Daddawa village in UBA, Hong LGA, was arrested on June 13, 2024, for the murder of Bassey Isah.

According to police spokesman Suleiman Nguroje, after fraudulently acquiring these items from Bassey, Aliyu lured him to a forest, where he struck him with an iron rod and buried his body.

"The suspect confessed to the allegations and will be charged with culpable homicide upon the conclusion of the investigation," the police stated.
