During the Sallah festivities in Kaduna State, Nigerian Army troops conducting special patrols eliminated a terrorist in Giwa Local Government Area, as reported by the Nigerian Army's official communication platform on Sunday.
The terrorist was identified as an associate of the notorious terrorist commander, Buharin Yadi, who was recently neutralized by troops. The encounter occurred when vigilant troops on a patrol to Kidandan village spotted the terrorist fleeing on a motorcycle.
Upon pursuit, the terrorist abandoned his motorcycle and attempted to escape into a nearby settlement. However, the troops pursued and neutralized him as he tried to flee into the bush. Subsequent searches led to the recovery of the abandoned motorcycle, along with two bags of corn flour and a mobile phone.
Operatives from the intelligence community later confirmed the terrorist's identity as Daushe, a known associate of Buharin Yadi, previously neutralized by troops in the same area. The swift and coordinated efforts of the security forces averted a potential threat to the community.
Currently, the troops maintain a strong presence in the area to ensure a peaceful Sallah celebration in Giwa Local Government Area.
