Osinbajo Urges Church to Scrutinize Political Donations in Evangelism Support

Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has urged the church to scrutinize donations received from politicians and other individuals to support evangelism. Osinbajo made this plea during the inaugural lecture honoring the late senior pastor of Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya, held on Saturday in Lagos.

He emphasized the importance of instilling good values among Christians in public service, encouraging them to uphold relevant principles of the gospel in their professional and public lives.

“How often do those who receive money from politicians and other sources inquire about the source of the funds?” Osinbajo questioned. “The focus should not solely be on the number of Christians in government, business, or professions, but rather on the principles and values they embody and apply.”

Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) is a Nigerian lawyer, professor, and politician who served as the 14th vice president of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023. A member of the All Progressives Congress, he previously held the position of Attorney General of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and is recognized as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Prior to his vice presidency, Osinbajo served as the pastor-in-charge of Lagos Province 48, Olive Tree Provincial Headquarters Parish, Ikoyi. He frequently utilizes social media platforms to engage with his audience on national and personal matters.

Osinbajo also participated in the 2023 APC presidential primaries, where he finished third and was defeated by President Tinubu, the eventual winner.
