The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially acknowledged the resignation of its former Vice Chairman, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, from the party.
Inegbeneki tendered his resignation letter to the Ward 9 chairman of the party in Opoji, Esan Central Local Government Area of the state on Friday, June 7, 2024. He also withdrew his membership from the party, citing recent developments in the local and state chapters as his reason for leaving.
A statement issued by the state chairman of the APC, Jarrett Tenebe, and released to the press in Benin City, confirmed the acceptance of Inegbeneki's resignation. Tenebe expressed the party's respect for his decision and extended well wishes for his future political endeavors.
Acknowledging Inegbeneki's longstanding dedication and loyalty to the APC since its inception, Tenebe highlighted his significant contributions to promoting the party's ideals and advancing the interests of members and supporters statewide. He emphasized the invaluable role Inegbeneki played in the growth and development of the party.
While urging all APC members and supporters, both within and outside Edo State, to remain resolute and committed to the party's objectives, Tenebe emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in mobilizing communities and engaging with fellow citizens. He underscored the need for solidarity in spreading the message of hope and change embodied by the APC.
Looking ahead, Tenebe emphasized the imperative of focusing efforts on the shared goal of liberating Edo State from what he described as the ineffective governance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He called upon party members to channel their energies toward this common objective for the betterment of the state.
