Nigeria to Send First Citizen into Space

The Nigerian Government has announced plans to send its first citizen into space. This was revealed by Mathew Adepoju, Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

Adepoju stated that the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA) to support this ambitious mission. He noted, “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s 25-year journey in space exploration and opens new opportunities for scientific research and technological advancement.”

In related news, NASRDA has expressed concerns over the lack of support for indigenous technology in combating maritime insecurity. The agency highlighted that 90 percent of the security issues in the maritime sector could be addressed using Geo-Stationary Satellites.
